My husband and I had a wonderful weekend at Casa Carmen. The place was so charming and interesting since the owner has many of his pieces of art work in the casa.....very clean with wonderful smells and magical lamps. The hosts were so very gracious and welcoming to us and to our dogs. We loved the art studio, the beautiful yard and the walking trail. They have many little sitting areas and unexpected surprises to discover. The upper decks were perfect for watching the sunset with a glass of wine. This was truly a place of enchantment. We would recommend this place to any couple or girls get away
Spectacular Location, Charm, and Hosts
My wife and I and my parents stayed for three nights over Presidents Day Weekend and greatly enjoyed our stay. We learned that Pat built the home by hand many years ago which adds to the wonderfully fun character of the entire property. The location was ideal for us with Taos Ski Valley located about 15 minutes from the front door and Taos Village located about 10 to 15 minutes the other direction. The Hot Tub under the stars was very relaxing after skiing all day and Carmen is a great chef who left us some delicious snacks and treats to enjoy daily. We will most definitely return. P.S. Pat Woodall is a well known local artist with a showroom in downtown Taos full of great art to take a look at. Ask anyone around town if they know Pat and the answer is almost always yes. Great folks. Ryan D.

Christmas Wonderland
My husband and I needed a relaxing vacation and I wanted snow, Casa Carmen offered everything we needed and more. We didn't feel like we were in a rental, instead it felt like home. Everything was decorated inside and outside beautifully, snow on the ground along with decorations and lights and a Christmas tree set up in the living area. The bed was very comfortable and the views were outstanding while outside. We went to the Pueblo for Christmas Eve and then to the ski valley for New Years Eve fireworks., great memories that will last a lifetime. There were plenty of walking areas to take the pups for walks and a fenced area to let them go snoop around. Carmen and Pat have thought of everything that anyone would need in the home, including having snacks and drinks waiting for us when we arrived. Thanks for sharing such a warm and wonderful home that is a piece of art, filled with art by Pat and special touches by Carmen along with greetings from Artemis. We're already planning our next trip out and looking forward to staying at Casa Carmen again!! - A guest from Bixby, OKBixby, OK

Dog parents from Kansas
We were looking for a fourth of July escape and Casa Carmen was perfect. The house had every amenity we needed. The hosts made us feel welcome from the first-greeting us with a cold supper after our long drive. The grounds are full of relaxing areas and fun art. The house is decorated with New Mexico art and furnishings. Beds are very comfortable. It's an ideal locale for visiting the Taos area. The fourth of July fireworks could be viewed from one of two decks. Fabulous views of the mountains and easy access to Arroyo Seco. We enjoyed avocado margaritas and learned some great New Mexico recipes. Artemis is a wonderful dog ambassador. We hope for a return visit! - 4th of July escape Wichita, KS.

Relaxation and Decompression
I was in need of a place to unwind with my family. This is an excellent setting to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Two second story porches give wonderful scenes. One for coffee and a sunrise. One with New Mexican wine and a sunset. Both porches are wired with sound. The Cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, warm bedrooms and full of original artworks. Morning walks through a nature area can be enjoyed, short or long, not on the main road. If you want to cook, fresh herbs can be picked around the house. Minutes from a small village with a restaurant, ice cream and a limited grocery store. 15 minutes to Taos or ski valley. Side note: My teenagers never got bored. The owners make you feel welcome and at home. Their suggestions and advice on the local area and restaurants was spot on. An avocado margarita may find its way to you front door! - Jeff G.Willow Park

A special place, in a special place with special people
The property is very comfortable with spectacular views of mountains and mesas at both sunrise and sunset. The down bedding, radiant floor heat and passive solar made even the coldest outside temps (0-10 degrees F) something to come in from and forgotten. Additionally, Carmen and Pat are wonderful ambassadors to Northern New Mexico. They are welcoming and gracious hosts who are willing to share their local knowledge of outdoor activities (hiking, skiing, hot springs,...), restaurants, art galleries and holiday events. The Christmas Eve at Taos Pueblo is a lifetime family memory. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to visit again! - Scott H.Akron, OH
Truly fantastic stay, highly recommended!
From the moment we arrived our hosts were helpful and extremely generous. Half way through our stay they made us some wonderful Avocado Margaritas which we will never forget! We had a very relaxing stay and took on board their recommendations of where to go and what to do as it was our first time in the area. Everything exceeded expectations and we are sure to be back but for longer! We loved that the house we stayed in was made from a high % of recycled materials, it is so wonderfully put together and the views from the decks are stunning. The home was cozy and the hosts welcomed our "lovely lab" with open arms which was really appreciated. Thank you so so much for a great weekend!

An idyll at Casa Carmen
Casa Carmen is an idyllic place; the gardens, the house, and the larger setting are all peaceful and very beautiful. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, and the decor colorful and charming. The high points of our stay included dinner and wine on the sunset porch, relaxing in the hot tub in the evening, lying on the hammocks and hearing the sound of the water running in the irrigation ditch, cooking with freshly picked herbs from the garden, riding bicycles into the town center of Arroyo Seco, and finding a different charming spot in the garden to eat breakfast every morning. Pat and Carmen were wonderful hosts for our stay in July, and made it feel like we were with friends whenever we saw them. We highly recommend Casa Carmen, and we'd love to visit again ourselves. - Anonymous

Wonderful stay in Arroyo!
Casa Carmen is an excellent accommodation in Arroyo Secco, NM. Pat and Carmen really do make the place with their hospitality and generosity. The house is well-appointed with art and antiques and everything one would need and more for a stay in NM. Full kitchen, eating area, comfy living room, excellent linens and PLENTY of extra towels, blankets, and extras make the experience! Two decks are super comfortable as well as back and side porches for hanging around. The grounds around the home offer many sitting areas. Our well-behaved dog was totally comfortable here. We will return!! Thanks Pat and Carmen! - Christa F.Boulder, CO

Lovely weekend getaway!
This was a lovely home with all the amenities. My husband and I really enjoyed the views and the location. We went snowshoeing up by the Ski Valley and had dinner in Arroyo Seco. Gorgeous views all around and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make a nice meal. The house has so much artwork and art books, it would be great even if the weather wasn't so beautiful. Pat and Carmen are wonderful hosts and only wish we had more time than just a few days. - Allison E.Pueblo, Colorado
